User Guide
MiraCycle is a privacy-first period and cycle tracking app for calendar-based logging, local pattern insights, voice-assisted entry, safety controls, and user-controlled PDF reports.
MiraCycle is for personal wellness tracking and record keeping. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent disease, provide contraception, or guarantee fertility or ovulation predictions.
1. Privacy-First Basics
MiraCycle is designed around private daily tracking. The current app experience does not require an account, does not show ads, and focuses on records saved on your device.
- No login is required to use the app.
- No advertising SDK is used in the app experience.
- Cycle predictions are estimates based on the period dates and logs you enter.
- Voice input creates a draft. You review it before saving.
- PDF exports are controlled by switches so you can choose what to include.
2. First-Time Setup
- Open MiraCycle.
- Use the onboarding calendar to select the dates from your most recent period.
- Tap the start button to create your initial cycle profile.
- MiraCycle uses your selected period dates to estimate cycle timing and upcoming calendar signals.
If your prediction looks wrong later, update your actual period dates in the Calendar tab. Real period history is more important than the original setup answer.
3. Today Tab
The Today tab gives a quick snapshot of your current cycle day, likely phase, next period countdown, and gentle planning suggestions.
- Use Today for a fast daily check-in.
- Tap the calendar action to jump into calendar logging for today.
- Treat phase guidance as wellness context, not medical advice.
4. Calendar Tab
The Calendar tab is the main place to view and record cycle information. It shows actual period days, predicted period days, fertile-window estimates, ovulation estimates, and dates with saved logs.
- Open the Calendar tab.
- Tap a date.
- Use the daily record panel to mark whether your period came on that day.
- Use period start or period end when you want MiraCycle to adjust a period range quickly.
- Add optional daily details.
- Tap Save.
5. Daily Records
For each selected date, you can record the details that matter most for cycle awareness and symptom patterns.
- Period status: yes, no, period started, or period ended.
- Flow: none, light, medium, heavy, or spotting.
- Pain level: 0 to 10.
- Symptoms: cramps, headache, fatigue, mood changes, cravings, bloating, sleep issues, spotting, and related symptoms.
- Mood: quick mood selection for daily pattern review.
- Discharge: optional cycle signal tracking.
- Sleep: optional sleep quality tracking.
- Sex and protection: optional sensitive field, hidden when sensitive-field privacy is enabled.
- Body metrics: optional temperature and weight fields, hidden when sensitive-field privacy is enabled.
- Private note: optional free-text note for context you want to remember.
When typing in a field, use the keyboard Done button or scroll the page to dismiss the keyboard before changing sections.
6. Voice-Assisted Entry
Voice entry helps reduce manual typing. It listens to your spoken note, transcribes it, and prepares a draft log for review.
- Open the Calendar tab and select a date.
- Tap the microphone button in the daily record panel.
- Allow Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions if prompted.
- Speak naturally. For example: "Period started today, light flow, cramps six out of ten, anxious mood, slept poorly."
- Review the parsed fields.
- Tap the apply button only if the draft looks correct.
- Save the record.
Voice input is optional. The app should not save a voice-derived record until you apply and save the reviewed draft.
7. Insights Tab
The Insights tab summarizes patterns from the information saved in your calendar logs. It is designed to help you notice recurring timing and wellness patterns locally.
- Upcoming cycle context.
- Local symptom patterns.
- Pain and flow trends.
- Mood and sleep associations.
- Cycle stability signals.
- Doctor-ready report export.
Insights are based on your saved logs. If a day was not saved in Calendar, it should not appear as user-entered information in the exported report.
8. PDF Report Export
MiraCycle can generate a local PDF summary for a healthcare appointment or personal archive. The export is created from your calendar period history and saved daily logs.
Default report file name format:
MiraCycle_Report_YYYYMMDD-YYYYMMDD_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.pdf
Before sharing, review the export switches in Insights. You can include or exclude:
- Period history.
- Flow.
- Pain.
- Symptoms.
- Mood.
- Discharge.
- Sleep.
- Sex and protection.
- Body metrics.
- Private notes.
Private notes, sex/protection, and body metrics can be sensitive. Keep those switches off unless you intentionally want to share them.
9. Privacy Tab
The Privacy tab contains controls for reducing accidental exposure of sensitive cycle data.
- Local-only storage preference.
- Anonymous mode preference.
- Optional iCloud sync for using your saved data across devices or moving to a new device.
- Include or exclude private notes in doctor reports.
- Face ID app lock.
- Quick Hide button.
- Blur when the app is inactive.
- Hide sensitive fields in daily logging.
- Emergency local data deletion.
Use Optional iCloud sync if you want saved cycle data to be available on your own iPhone and iPad through your Apple iCloud account. Turning Local-only storage back on disables iCloud sync. Use Face ID lock and Quick Hide if you are concerned about someone seeing your phone while the app is open. Use emergency clear only when you intentionally want to remove local cycle data from the device.
10. Permissions
Microphone
Used only when you choose voice entry.
Speech Recognition
Used to transcribe your spoken cycle note into a draft log.
Face ID
Used only when App Lock is enabled.
If a permission is denied, open iOS Settings, find MiraCycle, and adjust the permission there.
11. iPhone and iPad
MiraCycle supports iPhone and iPad. On iPad, the app is intended to run as a full-screen app. If it appears in a small compatibility window, make sure you are using the latest version from TestFlight or the App Store.
12. Troubleshooting
My predicted period looks wrong
Open Calendar and correct your actual period dates. Predictions improve when your saved period history reflects what actually happened.
I cannot dismiss the keyboard
Tap Done on the keyboard toolbar, scroll the page, save the entry, or switch sections. These actions should dismiss the keyboard in current versions.
Voice input is unavailable
Check iOS Settings and confirm that MiraCycle has Microphone and Speech Recognition access. Also check that Speech Recognition is available for your device and language.
The PDF does not include a field I expected
Open Insights and check the export switches. The report includes only the categories that are turned on and available from saved calendar logs.
I want to remove my data
Open Privacy and use the emergency local data deletion option if available. This is intended to remove local app data from the device.
13. Wellness Notice
MiraCycle is a wellness and personal record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose medical conditions, recommend treatment, provide contraception, or guarantee fertility, ovulation, or pregnancy outcomes. For medical questions, unusual symptoms, severe pain, heavy bleeding, pregnancy concerns, or urgent health issues, contact a qualified healthcare professional or emergency services.
